In August, United Ukraine Appeal continued to support the Varto Zhyty psychological helpline. This project provides essential assistance to active military personnel, veterans, and their family members, friends, and colleagues.

We are pleased to share an overview of last month’s work:

Gender breakdown:

• 61% men

• 38% women

• 1% did not specify

Categories of callers:

• 57% were active military

• 36% were family members, friends & colleagues

• 5% were veterans

• 2% were civilians in crisis

Counselling overview:

• 45% of callers reached out to the helpline for the first time

• Sessions lasted an average of 32 minutes

• The busiest days were August 5 and August 18, with 20 sessions each

• The longest single session lasted 1 hour 59 minutes
