In July 2025, the Varto Zhyty psychological helpline provided dedicated support to active military personnel, veterans, and their family members, friends, and colleagues. Here’s an overview of last month’s work:

Gender breakdown:

• 60% men

• 39% women

• 1% did not specify

Categories of callers:

• 58% were active military

• 34% were family members & friends

• 5% were veterans

• 3% were civilians in crisis

Counselling overview:

• 40% of callers reached out to the helpline for the first time

• Sessions lasted an average of 33 minutes

• The busiest day was July 22, with 25 sessions

• The longest single session lasted 1 hour 50 minutes
